Australian oil company Invictus Energy has announced the discovery of a hydrocarbon deposit in northern Zimbabwe, a country where massive power cuts are frequent.
Economy and Development May 10, 2023
The Australian company reassessed data from a study carried out in the 1990s by the North American oil giant ExxonMobil (formerly Mobil), which abandoned its project at the site, 240 kilometers north of the capital, Harare.
Invictus Energy signed an agreement with Zimbabwe in 2018 that provides for the sharing of production with the government, at a time when the country is suffering massive power cuts, which can last 19 hours a day.
