Ugandan MP criticizes European Union

This news in English

Addressing the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) parliamentary conference in the Belgian capital Brussels, Tayebwa said developing countries lack the capacity to stand up to the European Union independently, noting that "speaking against it with one voice in the gives an advantage".

“We ask the EU to be transparent, we are all human beings. We all have red blood. You don't have blue blood and for us, we have red blood. The milk that kills a European can kill an African. Pesticides that can give a European cancer, can give a Caribbean person cancer. Why do you allow dangerous goods to be exported to other countries?”

“Pesticides and products not allowed in the European Union, due to harmful impacts on human health and the environment, are being sent to our countries”, lamented Tayebwa.
