Tanzania has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with US Major League Soccer (MLS), National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) clubs to promote the country's tourism and investment opportunities.

The clubs involved in the deal are the Seattle Sounders, Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and Portland Trailblazers (NBA) of Major Soccer MSL.
After the signing of the agreements, held at Lumen Stadium in Seattle, United States, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources of Tanzania, Hassan Abbas, expressed his government's determination to promote the tourism sector with sport, adding that the strategy aims to increase the number of tourists on the country's various circuits.
Accompanied by the director of the Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB), Damas Mfugale, at the colorful event organized by Vulcan LLC, a company founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, in collaboration with representatives from Google, Starbucks, Seattle's Office of the Mayor, Boeing and the business community.
Adrian Hanauer, Sounders' biggest shareholder, urged American businessmen to visit Tanzania: "I can assure anyone who has never visited Tanzania that it's a good country. We also visited Tanzania with the Seattle Sounders, who played against the Young Africans (Yanga), Simba and the National Team (Taifa Stars) in the 2000s".
