South Africa and Ghana top the list of ten countries in the continent's birthplace with the best environment for trade, indicates a recent Standard Bank barometer report on trade in Africa.

According to a report by the largest bank in Africa, in descending order, after South Africa and Ghana, there are Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and Angola, "classified based on their business ecosystem".
Regarded as one of the most comprehensive surveys on the state of trade on the African continent, Standard Bank's research report offers a comparative view of the challenges to facilitating trade in the top 10 African markets.
For this second edition of the report, qualitative and quantitative information was obtained from 2,554 organizations between the months of August and September 2022, representing small, medium and large companies in all 10 economies.
