São Tomé and Príncipe has committed itself to having at least 50% clean energy by 2030 and will already be working towards the energy transition, in partnership with the World Bank, African Development Bank and UNDP, according to its Minister for Infrastructure , Natural Resources and Environment.

Adelino Cardoso assumed that the Executive of the archipelago led by Patrice Trovoada will restructure the entire energy sector, with emphasis on the Water and Electricity Company (EMAE).
In this sense, he appealed to the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the UNDP, to speed up the hiring system, restructuring and EMAE's computer program, which, in his words, needs to be updated.
