Morocco's tomato exports increased by 17% compared to the previous year, when it ranked 5th in the 2021 ranking.
Only the Netherlands and Mexico were ahead of Morocco in the ranking. The United Kingdom continues to be one of the biggest markets, as it has been increasing imports of tomatoes from Morocco.
Over the last five years, Moroccan tomato growers have increased supply to UK markets until the end of 2022, with sales volumes increasing to a record 140,000 tonnes.
France is also among the biggest consumers of Moroccan tomatoes, but consumption in that country of the Moroccan product is gradually decreasing annually.
