The leader of Sudan, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, assured that he "agreed on all points" with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, about the mega-dam on the Nile.

Fattah al-Burhan guaranteed, in a statement sent to the press, that "Sudan and Ethiopia are in agreement on all points of the dam of Renaissance".

When construction began on this huge project on the Blue Nile in 2011, Ethiopia aroused the anger of Egypt, which fears a lack of water supply.

As for Sudan, its position in recent years has varied, being sometimes on the side of Cairo and other times on the side of Ethiopia. So far, the Ethiopian Prime Minister has not made any reference to the discussions in Khartoum on the Great Renaissance Dam (Gerd).

However, the Ethiopian Chief Executive only said that he insisted with General Al-Burhan and his number two, General Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, on "Ethiopia's non-interventionist principle". Sudanese people to face their own challenges” and find “local solutions” for the country to get out of the post-coup crisis.
