Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone at the Annual Investment Meeting

Following his election as a member of the Executive Council of the Organization of Free Zones (WFZO), the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone, Manuel Francisco Pedro, participated in the 12th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), from 8 to 10 May, at the National Exhibition Center in Abu Dhab.

On the first day (8th), Francisco Pedro was part of the panel on “creating resilient value and supply chains to promote opportunities for economic growth”, in an event regarded as one of the largest in the world, bringing together government leaders, decision-makers, entrepreneurs and international investors, among others.

With close to 12,000 participants from 170 countries, more than 100 forums and 600 speakers, the Annual Investment Meeting also included discussions and workshops supervised by experts in finance and business and by academics in the field of economics.

Speaking to XIETU AFRICA, Francisco Pedro says that he sees this scenario as "an opportunity to address the fundamental challenges that Angola has faced on its journey to achieve development and to discuss investment trends and strategies that can be used to maximize the potential of Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone, aiming at Angola's fight for economic diversification, within the framework of the Angolan Executive's agenda".
