About the Luanda-Bengo ZEE

The Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE) was created in 2009 and has its headquarters in the municipality of Viana, Luanda. It is an important pole of economic development that corresponds to the guidelines of the Strategic Plan of the Angolan Executive to produce more in Angola, increase exports, create jobs for the citizens of the Republic of Angola and attract private investment, national and foreign.

With a total area of 7,596 hectares, the Luanda-Bengo ZEE comprises the Viana Industrial Reserve and the Uala Agro-Industrial Reserve. The industrial reserve of Viana is implanted in an area of 4,718 hectares, where 157 industrial units are built, most of them dedicated to the production of foodstuffs and other manufacturing industries. Since the beginning of its operation, the ZEE has already generated more than 7 thousand direct jobs, in the overwhelming majority, for Angolans. The Uala agro-industrial reserve encompasses an area of 2,878 hectares and is still in the project development phase. The Luanda-Bengo EEZ is equipped with a high-quality infrastructure network unparalleled in Angola and in neighboring countries, and has a privileged location, very close to the new Luanda International Airport - the future aeronautical hub of Africa central, with capacity for the transit of 15 million passengers - in addition to being located in the center of essential road junctions in the Republic of Angola, and close to the Port of Luanda and the future deep water port of Barra do Dande. The premises of the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone also include a commercial hub, housing projects, services and other investments, which qualifies the Luanda-Bengo ZEE as a fundamental structure to boost and diversify the Angolan economy: www.zee.co.ao
