The chairman of the Board of Directors of ENDIAMA, José Manuel Ganga Júnior, advanced the aim of "guaranteeing that the diamond sector occupies its real position in the economic structure and revenue collection".

"The weight of the diamond subsector in the national economy is still very small, but there is considerable commitment to a substantial improvement in the contribution in terms of the trade balance and in the Public Investment Programs".

On the sidelines of the inauguration of Sociedade Mineira "Yetwene” Limitada, Ganga Júnior stressed that the new mine, although small in size, as it is alluvial, represents a lot for the company and is part of the execution of a program that place the creation of wealth, jobs and increased production volumes.

"Of course, today, despite its size, it already has 500 direct workers, and from the point of view of the indirect workforce, that number is sure to multiply, hence it is not only the large volume of production that will bring the increase in income, but, essentially, the creation of internal wealth at the level of the region that it deserves”, he added.
