The new campus is located in Bouskoura, near the Moroccan city of Casablanca.

The opening takes place at a time of growing demand for teaching English in the country, especially among the younger generations, who were more exposed to the language through the internet.

The campus is the first of three to be built in Morocco over the next few years, according to the university.

"It is a partnership between two excellent institutions," said the British ambassador to Morocco, Simon Martin, during the opening. "Coventry University on the one hand, and the British Education Group on the other".

Martin also emphasized that the new campus will not only help his students broaden their horizons, but will also strengthen ties between Morocco and the UK.

He added that Great Britain is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Moroccan students.

Over a thousand Moroccan students are currently studying at UK universities, a record number.

Coventry University is one of the largest in the UK in terms of student population.
