The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, recently reaffirmed his commitment to positioning the archipelago as a digital 'hub' in Africa with the capacity to attract foreign investment, transforming it into a "digital country".

“The country has young entrepreneurial talents who are already assuming themselves as digital leaders, there is an ecosystem favorable to innovation, investment and digital entrepreneurship", said Ulisses Correia e Silva when speaking at the opening of the Leadership Summit Cabo Verde, in Praia, with speakers international organizations and the objective, according to the organization, of "producing relevant knowledge in all areas related to leadership".

"We intend to position Cape Verde as a digital 'hub' in Africa, with the capacity to attract leading investors, attract digital nomads, export goods and services, create a community of entrepreneurship and qualified employment for young people and enhance the centrality of our diaspora ", he also said, after listing the various technological changes in recent years in the country, such as the complete transition to Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) or the technological park in Praia and São Vicente, in the final phase.

He also argued that it is necessary to "improve the efficiency of public services in all areas", namely through "digital transformation", in order to "combat the slowness of Public Administration", maintaining the commitment to technological training for young people.

The Leadership Summit Cape Verde, held at the National Assembly and at the University of Cape Verde, in Praia, aims to be an annual event integrated in the Leader project, which replicates the Leadership Summit Portugal event for the first time internationally.
