The African Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, a Cameroonian national, as Vice President in charge of the Regional Development, Integration and Trade Delivery complex.

Akin-Olugbade is a senior executive with nearly 31 years of experience providing technical, managerial and strategic expertise and leadership in capital markets, treasury, asset management and product development at the AfDB.
Prior to her appointment, she was Acting Vice President and General Manager of the Bank's Business Development and Delivery Office for the West Africa region.
Akin-Olugbade led the development and implementation of transformative strategies, programs and transactions, positioning AfDB as the 'Bank of Solutions'.
The new vice president joined the AfDB in the Treasury Department's trading room in 1991 as a financial assistant, where she worked until 1993, when she became an investment officer until 1997 managing the bank's assets in international capital markets.
She later became a lead financial analyst in the Financial Technical Services Division, where she was responsible for financial solutions for clients across the continent.
Akin-Olugbade was appointed manager of the Bank's Technical Financial Services Division in 2008 and held this position until 2010. In this role, she oversaw the development of new products, financial solutions for clients and risk management services.
He also led the team that wrote the African Guide to Fixed Income and Derivatives, published in 2010.
She is a graduate of Paris-Dauphine University in France, where she obtained a master's degree in applied economics. He holds a postgraduate degree in management from Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
